Sustainability – BEAT Bags

We have an absolute commitment to maintaining and enhancing the health of our local environment. Balnarring Primary School takes the responsibility very seriously of being an accredited 5 Star Sustainability School, having successfully completed the requirements of the Core, Biodiversity, Energy, Waste and Water modules.

Our BEAT Bags program is an initiative where children collect rubbish from home, put the rubbish in their BEAT bag and bring the bag in to sort at school. We then send or take rubbish to organisations to be recycled. If you are able to help with taking items to Mornington, please let us know.

The local Balnarring Boomerang Bags team kindly made plain bags for children to decorate and use for their recycling.

Thank you Balnarring Boomerang Bags

Here’s how our program works

Milk Lids – inserts must be removed and snip any rings

Medical Blister Packs

This is how much we collected in only a few weeks after implementing the program: BPS 2021 Dec – rubbish diverted from landfill

What BPS Collect

Here are the items we are collecting at school. Please make sure all items are clean before bringing them to school.
